The last remaining wild Bengal tigers of the world roam freely on the fringes of Jim Corbett National Park, India. The villages surrounding the protected park use the forests for their livellihood. This creates increasing pressure on the forests, wildlife and on humans.  Endless-Earth has identified a conservancy group in the village of Ringora, Uttarakhand  that has recognised this serious issue, and spearheaded a program to provide an alternate source of income to the villagers to minimize their need to venture into the forests. The village now has a small shop established along the main road to cater to tourists (for memorabilia items) where the residents take turn to run the shop. This is a great win-win model. Visit  Harela.com for more local information. To ensure success for this critical program, Endless-Earth is participating with them to meet additional needs of the villagers.
